Entertainment in Pécs
center
There are lot of
underground and mainstreem bars and clubs in the city centre,
mostly at Király str. and Irgalmasok str.
Szoba
It is a small underground
club in the Boltív köz, on the first floor. Place for
exhibitions, films and electronic music parties. Drinks are
not expensive.
Nappali
It is a nice bar in the
middle of the Király str. There is always some exhibition.
Culture café
This is the biggest
underground pub in the middle of the Király str. There is two
floors and a big garden. The design is a bit similar to the
ruin pubs in Budapest. It is also in a whole building, the
rooms of the former flats become the bar with lot of tables.
The furnitures are old art deco and retro from the 60's and
70's. The garden is popular in summer.
Trafik
It is one of the most
popular clubs in Pécs, takes place on the basement of Apollo
cinema in Percel str. (parallel to Király str.) The design is
a nice retro stíye from the 60's. The most popular on Fridays
and Saturdays when good dance music is served. This time it is
difficult to enter after midnight. At Thursdays the music is
more chill out and electro and the club is less crowded. Free
entrance.
Est café
This is the most popular
club for students, and there are a lot of live concerts mostly
at weekends. The club is on the basement of the "Kereskedők
háza". Some concerts are free, but usually there is entrance
fee for the disco.
